Pamela Brand
Pamela Brand, PsyD., LMFT, is a CCFH core faculty member with extensive experience in teaching and supervision of clinical work with children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Brand has a private practice on the north side of Chicago with special expertise in couples therapy, eating disorders, and issues related to adolescent girls. She is also an adjunct faculty member of the Adler School of Professional Psychology, where she teaches a marriage and family therapy class.
Dr. Brand holds Masters and Doctorate degrees in clinical psychology, with training and licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). She has training and certification in substance abuse counseling. Dr. Brand has been practicing psychology for 23 years, including work in social service agencies such as Catholic Charities, Ravenswood Community Mental Health Clinic, and Christopher House, where she provided clinical services to low income and culturally diverse families. In these agencies she provided individual, group and family counseling to varied populations including pregnant teens and teen mothers, youth offenders in a preventative program, and children and families in state-funded daycare and after school programs. In collaboration with CCFH, she provided supportive family services and resilience-oriented psycho-educational groups to the National Able Network, which served displaced workers. Dr. Brand also worked as a medical social worker at St. Joseph Hospital, and provided consultation for a medical practice at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
